Commissioned by the Municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch and created in collaboration with Podium, we’ve uncovered the hidden history of the city beneath your feet and transformed it into a stunning museum experience at Groot Tuighuis.
This project was designed to shine a light on the rich, diverse history of Den Bosch, revealing layers of the past in a way that’s engaging and interactive.
Concept
Our goal was to create an immersive experience that allows visitors to actively learn about the city's long history, spanning centuries of transformation.
The result is a creative concept and production that combines digital enrichment with historical storytelling. We’ve blended various mediums such as 3D animation, video content from our own studio, 2D compositing, and even elements of artificial intelligence, to create a multi-layered and dynamic experience.
Result
Through animated dioramas, visitors are guided through six distinctive time periods that highlight key moments in the history of Den Bosch.
Each period is brought to life through detailed miniature landscapes that show the significant changes that shaped the city, making the past feel vivid and real. The visual storytelling is complemented by interactive features that invite deeper engagement with the history being presented.
One of the most exciting elements is the digital excavation game, where visitors can virtually dig for historical artifacts, examine them, and learn about their significance. This hands-on experience mimics real-life archaeological research, giving visitors the chance to explore the process of discovery and the thrill of uncovering the past. By incorporating these interactive features, we’ve created an experience that not only informs but also engages visitors in an active exploration of Den Bosch’s history, allowing them to feel like true archaeologists uncovering the city’s forgotten stories.
